KwikSite is operated by Host Local, an Australian website software development and hosting company. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use KwikSite, how we use and disclose it, and how we protect it. By using KwikSite you consent to the practices described here.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us and information collected automatically as you use the service:
- Account details - your name and email address (including via Google sign-in if you choose it).
- Billing information - payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and a customer reference, but we do not collect or store your full card details.
- Your content - the prompts you type, the websites you build, and any images or files you upload.
- Domain contact details - where relevant to a domain you register.
- Usage & technical data - IP address, browser type, access times and similar information, collected automatically to operate and secure the service.
AI processing of your content
To build and edit your site, KwikSite sends your prompts and relevant site content to third-party AI model providers via OpenRouter (which routes to providers including Anthropic, OpenAI and Google), using the model you select. This processing is necessary to provide the service. Please don't include sensitive personal information in prompts or site content. These providers handle the data under their own terms and privacy policies.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and operate KwikSite (building, previewing, publishing and hosting your sites; registering and managing domains; sending your contact-form submissions; processing payments), to secure and improve the service, to respond to support requests, and to contact you about your account or the service.
How we disclose your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the service or where required by law, including with:
- Amazon Web Services - hosting and storage, email delivery (SES) for contact-form messages, and domain registration (Route53).
- Stripe - payment processing.
- AI model providers via OpenRouter - as described above.
- Legal & safety - to comply with applicable laws (including those of Queensland, Australia) or lawful requests, and to protect the safety of users or the public.
- Business transfers - your information may transfer as an asset in a merger, acquisition or sale of all or part of Host Local.
Domain registration & WHOIS
When you register a domain, registration information may be published in the public WHOIS database as required by ICANN and the relevant registry. Domains bought through KwikSite are registered via AWS on your behalf, using Host Local's default contact details where applicable. Third parties may use WHOIS data to send solicitations; these do not come from us and we don't control that use.
Cookies
KwikSite uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the app. They can't run programs or access other data on your device. You can block cookies in your browser, but the app relies on a session cookie to function.
Security
We store your information on secured, access-controlled infrastructure and take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect it. However, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure; you acknowledge the inherent limitations of internet security.
International transfer
Our providers operate in various regions, so using KwikSite may involve transferring information across international borders. By using the service you consent to such transfers.
Accessing & updating your information
You may access and update the personal information we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions. Email info@kwiksite.dev and we may verify your identity before actioning a request.
